Idiopathic photosensitive occipital lobe epilepsy
Idiopathic photosensitive occipital lobe epilepsy is characterized by focal seizures beginning around puberty, as well as sometimes secondarily generalized seizures, nearly all appearing upon exposure to visual stimuli such as television, video games, and other environmental stimuli. Visual phenomena are the initial ictal manifestation in all patients, usually reported as bright, colorful, or multicolored rings or spots that are fixed or flashing in the periphery of the visual field, and sometimes ictal blindness or severe blurring of vision.
