Hand-colored engraving by John Warner Barber (1798-1885), printed in New Haven, Connecticut. Biblical quotation above the image: "Wo unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle Strong Drink... Isaiah 5C.22v." [Isaiah 5:22]. Two men are drinking at a saloon, while two are brawling, one is vomiting, and one is unconscious on a bench.
