Comparison of early systolic deceleration and normal (blue lines) vertebral artery spectral Doppler waveforms. After an early systolic spike, some of the systolic blood flow is shunted to supply the left arm. Flow remains antegrade, however, throughout systole and diastole. (Contributed by Dr. Douglas Lanska.)
