Multiple evanescent white-dot syndromes (MEWDS)

(A) This condition is one of several that are classified as white dot syndromes. These are chorioretinopathies, reflecting the fact that both the choroid and retina are involved. (B) Red-free image of same patient. This fundus picture is a “red-free” (ie, taken with green light) picture of the same retina in figure A. This technique is sometimes used to enhance the contrast of the lesions in the retina. (Contributed by Dr. Danica Marelli.)
