Hydroxychloroquine retinopathy (OCT)

An OCT scan through the macula reveals significant loss of the receptor layer along with thinning of the retinal pigment epithelium. Only a thin remnant of the receptor layer remains in the very center of the fovea. A normal macula scan is depicted below for comparison. (Contributed by Dr. Rosa Tang.)
