German physician-scientist Paul Ehrlich (1854-1915)

Ehrlich was instrumental in the work that developed serum therapy for diphtheria. Although Behring cheated him out of both financial reward and recognition, Ehrlich did win the 1908 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his contributions to immunology.
