Neurologic complications of coronavirus infections
Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses with a positive-sense single-stranded RNA genome. Coronaviruses are known causes of respiratory, enteric, and systemic infections. The clinical syndrome caused by SARS-CoV-2 has been termed COVID-19. Symptoms of COVID-19 infection may initially resemble the flu. Fever is present in up to 90% and cough in approximately 70%, with symptoms developing after a median incubation period of 4 days.
