Radiculopathy: axial MRI of lumbar spine

T2-weighted axial MRI of the lumbar spine shows the foraminal and proximal extraforaminal course of the right L4 spinal nerve (straight arrow). The foraminal protrusion of disc material is shown (dashed arrows). Compared to the contralateral side, the right L4 spinal nerve has contact to the disc material.
