Culex tarsalis mosquito (dorsal view)

Culex tarsalis mosquito is a vector of many mosquito-borne diseases. The epidemiologic importance of C. tarsalis lies in its ability to spread Western equine encephalitis, St. Louis encephalitis, and California encephalitis.
