Comparison of serial growth hormone levels in normal and acromegalic patients

In normal subjects (left panel), growth hormone can fluctuate between undetectable levels (most of the time) and peaks of up to 30 μg/L (90 mIU/L). In patients with acromegaly (right panel), growth hormone hypersecretion is continuous and growth hormone never returns to undetectable levels. (Source: Chanson and Salenave 2008.
