Case of Austrian pediatrician Heinrich Lehndorff (1908). Poliomyelitis in a 7-year-old child. Severe paralysis of both legs. Flexion contracture in the hip joint, severe lordosis of the lumbar spine. "Hand walkers." [Case] of Dr. H[einrich] Lehndorff in the Carolinen Children's Hospital in Vienna. Note also the accentuated anterior pelvic tilt, which, in combination with the accentuated lumbar lordosis, produces a swayback posture; the marked atrophy of the leg muscles; and the back-kneeing (genu recurvatum).
